The Three Muskateers (17) ****

FA: Hermie Venter, Tony Lourens, Ed February 25 Jan 2014

Great route on good rock with excellent crack climbing up an attractive corner. Stances have bolted anchors.

Start: To the right of the Black Slab Sector and to the left of Farfallina is a deep cleft. The route starts on the right side of the cleft, at the base of the obvious left slanting corner/crack.

1. 20m (16): Climb the corner crack to the ledge with boulders on it.

2. 25m (17): Pull steeply onto the undercut face on good holds and follow the sometimes tricky ramp and crack to a steepish finish on good holds. Exit right onto a stance.

Descent: As the route follows a leftward slanting line, it is not possible to abseil straight back down the route. From the top anchor abseil straight down the top of the last pitch and keep going for about 20m to an earthy ledge with bolted anchors on the slab to the left. One more abseil from here takes you to the ground.
