Rally Day Rules and Regulations:

  1. Climbing is an inherently dangerous sport. Take things slowly and proceed with caution. The use of helmets is STRONGLY advised and will earn you bonus points. In the case of a tie, the team with helmets will get the advantage.
  2. Every climber must tie directly into their harness with a figure of 8. NO tying in or connecting the rope to your harness using carabiners!
  3. Every bolt on a route must be clipped. Standard procedures using both top anchors must be followed for lowering off every route.  NO soloing under any circumstances
  4. Only routes lead from the bottom to the top without falling will count towards the number of completed routes.
  5. On multi-pitch routes, the second climber may be belayed from above. The technique of belaying from above may also be used to exit a crag.
  6. Simul-climbing is not allowed.
  7. Resting/pulling on quick draws or on a rope (this is called hang-dogging) will end your attempt on a route and NOT count as a completed ascent, thus scoring no points. In the event of a fall or resting on the rope/bolt, you will have to be lowered, pull the rope down completely and start again in order to score points. Alternatively finish the route and clean it without scoring any points for that route.
  8. Climbers caught littering at crags, ESPECIALLY cigarette butts, will be DISQUALIFIED!
  9. The competition relies on the honesty and integrity of all participants. Teams found to be cheating or not climbing in the spirit of the event will be penalized/disqualified by the event organizer on the recommendation of judges at the crags or other climbing parties.   Judges decisions are final.
  10. Every climber MUST sign an indemnity.
